DUNE Part 2 is the cinematic event we've been praying for
See it on the biggest frickin' screen you can find
When Dennis Villeneuve released Dune Part 1 in theaters in November 2021, audiences were shocked to find it was only half of one larger tale. The breathtaking landscapes, the brilliant score by Hans Zimmer, and one of the most talented casts in recent memory left us all wanting more.
Two and a half years later, the climatic end to this story has finally arrived and I’m happy to report it has NOT disappointed. Where the first movie sets up the narrative and the larger galactic stakes at play, Part 2 quickly reaches max velocity and refuses to slow down.
In most blockbuster movies, one scene usually takes your breath away while watching it on the big screen. In Oppenheimer, it was the Trinity Test and in The Batman, it was the thrilling chase between Batman and the Penguin. With Dune Part 2, there are several mind-blowing moments worth tens of thousands of words.
This is not a movie to wait until it comes out on streaming or Blu-Ray. It is a cinematic event for the ages meant to be shared with friends, family, and hundreds of strangers packed together in a crowded theater.
I had the opportunity to see it early on Sunday night for AMC’s Fan Premiere Event and instead of clapping the credits rolled, all one could do was laugh at the insane 2 and a half hours we all shared.
I strongly recommend you find the biggest screen in your area and drag at least a few others along the way. I promise you will not regret it.
If you live in the Arlington-DC area, I strongly recommend watching Dune Part 2 in the following theaters:
